It was an overall successful weekend for the Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team, as they scored a win and earned a point in an overtime loss on the road.
Friday night, the Lakers earned a 4-1 win over Laurier and Saturday, they dropped a tight 2-1 decision in extra time against Western in London.
A pair of goals by
Kaley Tienhaara and
Bronwyn Bolduc each led Nipissing to the win.
Jackie Rochefort allowed just one goal on 17 shots and picked up the win in net.
Zosia Davis, Sam Strassburger,
Molly Sipprell,
Robyn Degagne and
Maria Dominico with two, earned assists in Friday's win.
The Lakers ended their weekend picking up one point in a 2-1 overtime loss to Western Saturday.
Tienhaara had the lone Nipissing goal, while Rochefort finished with 24 saves. Nipissing outshot Western 35-26.
???????Dominico and Degagne earned assists on the lone Lakers goal, finishing with multi-point weekends, along with Tienhaara.
The Lakers are 3-0-1 in their four games in 2018 and are 10-4-2 overall this season, giving them 30 points.
Nipissing faces York next Saturday on home ice.
