A night after a big win, the Nipissing Lakers men's basketball team faced a very strong Brock Badgers team, looking to make it two in a row.
Brock, who entered the game 4-1, got off to a hot start, building up a big lead early in the game and topped the Lakers 79-51.
Nipissing was slow out of the gates and trailed 21-8 after 10 minutes of play, putting themselves behind the eight-ball early on.
The Lakers improved in the second quarter, but found themselves behind at halftime, 48-21.
Nipissing managed to put up 30 points in the second half – 16 in the third and 14 in the fourth, but it wasn't enough.
The Lakers outscored Brock 14-6 in the final 10 minutes, but the hole was too big to dig out of for Nipissing, as they fall to 1-3.
Quintin Ashitei led the Lakers attack with 13 points, while
Justin Hill had another strong outing, posting 10 points.
Nipissing hits the road to face Guelph and Algoma next weekend.
