History
U Sports was officially unveiled on Oct. 20, 2016. Canadian university sports have come of age over the past 110 storied years. Now, we track the future under a bold new name: U Sports. One title, instantly recognizable and identical in both French and English, with one goal: To give our student-athletes and national championships the visibility, appreciation and reward they deserve.

Like CIAU and CIS, U Sports will continue its role as the leader of university sports in Canada. But we are becoming much more. The U Sports brand aims to create a massive change in the way Canadians see university sports in the digital era. Our commitment is to revitalize our place in the national sport conversation by using every technology possible to highlight, celebrate, and present the accomplishments of these remarkable young individuals who pursue the toughest double major of all. Full-time scholar and full-time athlete

It is a transformation that began nearly a year ago with new leadership and a new vision. Now comes our new name, new brand, new mark, and soon, a new website—usports.ca—where student-athletes, fans, media and partners will find everything they need.

It's a big job in a big country. After all, we represent 56 universities, 12,000 student-athletes, 770 games and events per year… and millions of stories.

It all comes together under one brand: USPORTS.

CUFLA
The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) is a league that includes 14 teams in Ontario and Quebec.
The teams compete for the Baggataway Cup, handed out each year in November.

What is CUFLA?
The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) is the league of Canadian Universities that play lacrosse. CUFLA is governed by an executive board that runs the league and is accountable to the member universities. From humble 'club' beginnings, to varsity level teams in 2013, the league has come a long way in the last four decades, where the competition is intense and continues to improve each and every year. CUFLA recruiting efforts span North America as many U.S. born student-athletes are choosing to compete in Canada's most competitive field lacrosse league and the best education system.  Many alumni play both professional field lacrosse and have won gold playing for Team Canada. The season culminates with the Baggataway Cup, where the top Canadian University Lacrosse teams compete for a national championship. CUFLA will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025.
