Box Score The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey suffered their fourth straight loss Friday night on the road.
The Lakers dropped a 5-2 decision to the UOIT Ridgebacks in Oshawa – it is the second 5-2 loss to the Ridgebacks of the season, as Nipissing fell in their home opener by the same score.
UOIT jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the midway point of the first period and took that advantage into the first intermission.
The Ridgeback added a third goal seven minutes into the second period before
Brett Hargrave scored the first of his two goals four minutes later.
With the score 3-1 and time running out in the second, UOIT made it 4-1 with a late tally.
Hargrave would score early in the third period to once again pull Nipissing within two, but UOIT sealed the win with nine minutes to go, making the score and final 5-2.
Erik Robichaud had two assists, while
Deverick Ottereyes and
Kylor Wall each had one.
Domenic Graham finished with 24 saves in the loss.
The Lakers return home to host the Ottawa Gee Gees Friday night and the Carleton Ravens Saturday afternoon.
Friday's game is scheduled for 7:30pm, while Saturday's matinee is at 1pm, both at Memorial Gardens.
