The Nipissing Lakers lacrosse team's season came to an end last week on the road, falling in the Baggataway Cup qualifier weekend.

Hitting the road and travelling to London, ON to face the Western Mustangs, the Lakers fell dropped a 13-6 decision closing out the 2024 campaign.

Western jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after one, taking control right out of the gates.

Nipissing got on the board in the second, but trailed 8-1 at the halftime break.

A pair of goals in the third saw the Lakers fight back, but the Mustangs added to their lead and took a 13-3 advantage into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Lakers scored three late to make it a game, but the hill was too steep to climb to come back.

Zach Tarr and Carter Tait each scored twice, while Jesse Ashkewe and Matthew Lalonde added singles in the contest.
