For the third straight game, dramatics highlighted the Nipissing Lakers women's soccer game in Halifax, NS, as part of the BMO USports Women's Soccer National Championship.

After a tough shootout loss in the quarter-finals and a shootout win in the consolation semi-final, the Lakers earned a 1-0 win over Trinity Western in the fifth place game to close out nationals with a win and a 2-1 record.

Tori Patterson had the Lakers goal - the only one of the game - at the 90-minute mark to give Nipissing the win.

Hayden Hanley made seven saves for the clean sheet and win.

The Lakers entered the tournament as the fifth seed and finish fifth overall in the country.
