After a pair of wins on the road last weekend, the Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team returned home for two games this weekend.
They began with a matchup against the York Lions Friday night at Memorial Gardens.
Despite peppering the Lions net, the Lakers fell 2-1 in overtime, thanks to outstanding goaltending by the York goal.
Abby Lunney had the lone Lakers goal to put Nipissing up 1-0 in the opening frame.
York tied the game in the second and eventually won it in the extra frame.
Nipissing earns a single point and will look to avenge the loss Saturday when they wrap up their weekend.
They're back on the ice, hosting the Ottawa Gee Gees Saturday at 4pm.
