The Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team didn't mess around Friday night.
Hosting their annual military appreciation game, as well as coming off a win last weekend, the Lakers welcomed the Carleton Ravens to Memorial Gardens.
Nipissing dominated, coming away with a 8-0 victory to improve to 15-1-3 on the season.
A quiet start saw just one goal in the first as
Aki Fujimori found the back of the net to put Nipissing up 1-0.
The goal turned out to be the game-winner, as Nipissing blew the game wide open in the middle frame.
Jill Hennessy scored her first of three on the game to make it 2-0 just 37 seconds into the second period.
After that,
Taylor Yeo scored her first OUA goal, followed by Hennessy completing her hat-trick.
Ashley Taciuk and
Maggie McKee capped off the scoring in the second period, putting Nipissing up 7-0.
Emma Thomas wrapped the goal-scoring in the third, making it 8-0.
Madison Laberge had three assists,
Malory Dominico and
Tessa Kosec each had two, while Fujimori and McKee also earned multi-point efforts.
Jordan Sladics made 15 saves for the shutout, while the Lakers fired 42 shots at the Ravens net.
Nipissing is back on the ice Saturday afternoon when they entertain the Toronto Varsity Blues to wrap up the weekend.
Puck drop is set for 4pm at Memorial Gardens.
