Box Score North Bay, ON – Nipissing Lakers Men's Hockey Team took down the Ottawa GeeGees 5-3 at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens on October 31, 2025.
Noah Vom Scheidt opened the scoring for Nipissing with a powerplay goal at 19:59 in the first period.
In the second, Charlie Johnson netted a powerplay marker to double the lead.
Ottawa's Mitch Martin answered and got Ottawa on the board at 8:02 of the second period, cutting Nipissing's lead to one. Luke Strickland of the Lakers responded with a goal at 12:05, restoring the two-goal lead. However, it was a powerplay goal from Max Grondin at 14:10 of the second that once again cut the lead to just one for the Lakers.
In the third period, Ottawa tied the game at three as Andrew Belchamber scored at 11:43.
The Lakers fought hard during the third period and eventually broke through, taking the lead courtesy of a Luke Strickland goal at 18:06 of the final frame. Alexis Beaulac secured the victory with an empty-net goal, propelling the Lakers to a 5-3 win.
Ottawa took advantage in shots during the contest at 34-28. Nipissing's powerplay converted on 2 of 6 chances, while Ottawa's was affective 1 out of 5 tries.
The Lakers record now sits 5-3, and 3-1 at home.
Nipissing is back in action November 1st at 6pm at Memorial Gardens, taking on the Ottawa GeeGees once again.
