The Nipissing Lakers women's basketball team has earned a spot in the OUA Playoff conversation thanks to a big win on the weekend.
Nipissing had a huge fourth quarter on their way to a 60-43 win over the Algoma Thunderbirds in the Soo, Saturday night.
A 29-22 lead at halftime for the Lakers dwindled to 35-33 advantage after three, but a huge final frame where Nipissing outscored Algoma 25-10, catapulted them to victory.
Megan McCarter and
Katelyn DeCook each had 15 points, while
Nicole Budd added 14 in the victory.
Nipissing returns home to face Queen's and Ontario Tech next weekend.
