Thunder Bay, ON – Nipissing Women's Volleyball wrapped up their 2025-26 season schedule with a trip to Thunder Bay this past weekend.
Friday, Feb. 13, the Lakers opened their match with a 25-21 set one win to lead 1-0. Nipissing followed that up with a 25-20 win in set two, to lead 2-0 and push the Thunderwolves to the brink.
Lakehead responded with an authoritative 25-14 win in set three to get into the match. The Lakers narrowly missed closing the match in four sets and Lakehead won 25-21 to tie the match at two sets.
The Lakers prevailed in the fifth, winning 15-12 and taking the victory, 3-2.
Oceane Raymond-Leduc led Nipissing with 18 kills, followed by Addison Hannivan with 10, and Aurora House with 8. Raymond-Leduc scored 3 service aces, while Mia Chartrand and Kiara Van Steekelenburg had 2. Maddy Lamothe scored 46 assists in the win. Raymond-Leduc led Nipissing with 18 digs, followed by Kassandra Pavlic with 15 and Maddy Lamothe with 12.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, the Lakers looked to finish their season on a high with another matchup against Lakehead.
Nipissing got off to a good start in the first, winning 25-17 to lead 1-0. Lakehead responded in the second, winning 25-21 and tying the match at one. Nipissing took a close third set, winning 25-21. Then, Lakehead, with their backs to the wall, won a dramatic fourth set 27-25 to stay alive and tie the match at two.
Determined to finish in style, Nipissing took care of business in the fifth, winning 15-10.
Oceane Raymond-Leduc led Nipissing with 26 kills. Alex Hannivan scored 12, and Mia Chartrand added 5.
Kiara Van Steekelenburg served 3 aces, and Mia Chartrand and Ramanda Bell added one each. Maddy Lamothe scored 40 assists in the win. Kassandra Pavlic had 18 digs, while Raymond-Leduc added 13.
With the wins on the road, Women's Volleyball finished the 2025-26 season with a record of 8-12.
