North Bay, ON – Nipissing Lakers Athletics is proud to announce the signing of Evan Phillips as Head Coach of the Men's Soccer program. 

Phillips, originally from Toronto, Ontario, brings a strong background in soccer and postsecondary coaching to Nipissing. 

Phillips brings extensive experience coaching and building programs in Northern Ontario, with a strong understanding of the regional landscape and postsecondary sport environment. He has held leadership roles with the Sudbury Cyclones at the League1 level, served as an assistant coach with the Laurentian Voyageurs men's soccer program, and spent several seasons as head coach of the Cambrian College women's soccer program. 

"I'm honored to step into the role of Head Coach for the Men's Soccer program at Nipissing," Phillips said. "This team has a proud history. I'm committed to building the program's foundation with hard work, discipline, and a clear vision for what we can achieve." 

"Evan's approach aligns well with our commitment to student‑athlete experience, program culture, and long‑term development," said Sarah Batley, Director of Athletics. "His experience coaching and building programs in Northern Ontario, combined with his understanding of postsecondary athletics, makes him a strong fit for Nipissing Men's soccer and for our campus community." 

This role marks Phillips' first head coaching position in the OUA, something he is eager to step into.

With state-of-the-art facilities and a great core of quality players, I cannot wait to get started with the next chapter of Lakers Men's Soccer."
