While there wasn't much to report in terms of offence, the Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team and the Queens Gaels put on a show Sunday afternoon.
The two teams, who are battling for a possible Round 1 bye in the OUA playoffs, fought for the full 90 minutes, but neither was able to breakthrough and come up with a goal.
Both goalkeepers were outstanding, making key saves at key times and overall, the two squads were very evenly matched.
Jess Moran for the Lakers and Anna Stephenson for Queens both recorded clean sheets, with Moran making five saves and her counter-part finishing with three.
Madison Logan led the attack in the shot department with three shots and two on goal.
Defensively, Nipissing did a great job of keeping the league's leading goal scorer Jenny Wolever off the scoresheet and held her to just one shot.
Nipissing, who finished with an undefeated home record of 4-0-3 will close out the season on the road next weekend when they face Toronto Saturday and Ryerson Sunday.
While they have put themselves in a favourable spot for the OUA playoffs, seeding and opponents are still to be determined and will likely come down to the final weekend.
Saturday's game against Toronto is set for 6:30pm at Varsity Stadium and Nipissing will wrap up the regular season Sunday at 3:30pm against Ryerson.
