With both teams coming off losses Friday night, the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team and the Carleton Ravens wanted to finish the weekend on a positive note.
In a low scoring affair, the Ravens came away with a tight 2-1 victory over the Lakers.
Brent Moran finished with 34 saves, but it wasn't enough, as late goals hurt Nipissing once again.
After a scoreless first period,
Colin Campbell broke the deadlock, finding the back of the net for his fifth of the season.
The goal came unassisted just past the midway point of the period.
While the scoresheet wasn't filled with goals, the penalty box saw a lot of action, as the teams combined for eight penalties and a number of scrums through 40 minutes, but neither team could convert with the man advantage.
The Ravens did get on the board, tying the game just a few minutes into the third frame.
The game-winning goal was scored just past the midway point of the third period and despite a late power play and pressure in the final minutes, Nipissing couldn't find the goal to tie it.
The loss drops Nipissing to 2-8-0 on the season.
Nipissing is back in action next weekend when they head to Kingston to face RMC and Queens
