Even though there is two games left in the first half of the season, the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team will be pumped about Saturday night's victory.
The Lakers erased a 2-0 deficit and fought back to pick up a big 3-2 win over the McGill Redmen at home.
McGill opened up the scoring in the first and the 1-0 lead stood until early in the third period.
With the score 1-0 McGill, the Redmen fired home a power play marker to double their lead just two minutes into the third period.
From there, it was all Nipissing.
Colby Tower, set up by
Kylor Wall, cut into the team's deficit and got the ball rolling.
Lucas Brown scored just over two minutes later to tie the game, with
Drake Lindsay and
Brody Morris picked up helpers on the tally.
And finally, just after the midway point of the period, Tower scored his second of the night, on the power play, to give Nipissing the lead.
Erik Robichaud drew the lone assist on the goal.
From there, the Lakers hung on and claimed the win, earning the weekend split.
Domenic Graham was great in net and made 40 saves for the victory.
Nipissing faces McGill and Concordia next weekend on the road to wrap up the first half of the season.
