Box Score 2 It was a tough weekend on the road for the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team, as they wrapped up the first semester of play.
The Lakers dropped a pair of game to two of the top teams in the East Division, losing 7-1 to the McGill Redmen Friday night, before falling 9-2 to the Concordia Stingers Saturday.
In the first game of the weekend, Nipissing trailed 6-0 after two periods before
Colby Tower scored the lone goal for his team in the third period.
Gael Lubwele and
Drake Lindsay had the assists on the goal.
Domenic Graham finished with 49 saves in a losing cause.
Saturday, the Stingers fired 60 shots at the Lakers net and led 5-0 after two periods, on their way to the victory.
Kylor Wall and
Matt Paul had the Nipissing goal, both coming early in the third period.
Lucas Brown had a pair of helpers, while
Dylan Staples and
Tyler Brown also earned assists.
Graham and Pominville combined for 51 saves, splitting the game also down the middle.
Nipissing is back in action in January.
