LAKERS HOCKEY: Lakers announce Military Appreciation Nights

Lakers will don camouflage uniforms which will be auctioned off in support of the Military Family Resource Centre

Lakers Athletics, in partnership with the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) and 22 Wing CFB North Bay, are proud to announce the 15th annual men's hockey Military Appreciation Night and 4th annual women's hockey Military Appreciation Night.
The men's game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4PM, while the women's game will happen on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7PM. Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens will be host to both games.

The Lakers will don camouflage uniforms which will be auctioned off through a silent auction and presented to the winning bidder after each game.
All proceeds from the jersey auctions will support the MFRC.
The North Bay Military Wives Choir will perform the Canadian and American National Anthem, followed by a ceremonial puck-drop by the Wing Commander.

"We are proud to once again stand alongside 22 Wing CFB North Bay and the Military Family Resource Centre as we continue to strengthen our connection with the armed forces in our region," said Dr. Kevin Wamsley, President and Vice-Chancellor of Nipissing University. "Military Apprecition Night is a meaningful chance to honour those who serve and to show our gratitude to the families who support them. We are privileged to be part of this annual tradition."

"These games are among the most meaningful traditions at Nipissing" Nipissing Director of Athletics Sarah Batley said. "They allow us to honour the military families who support, protect, and inspire North Bay, and we're grateful to continue this important tradition together."

Men's hockey will face off with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks at 4PM on January 17th, while the women will face the Ottawa GeeGees on January 24th at 7PM.
