Whenever you're up against a nationally ranked, undefeated team, it poses a great challenge.
The Nipissing Lakers women's basketball team experienced that Friday night as they hosted the McMaster Marauders, who entered the game with a 3-0.
McMaster got off to a quick start and pushed the pace all game, walking away with a 91-44 victory over the Lakers.
The Marauders started the game very strong and were hot from beyond the arc.
Nipissing fought back and trailed 12-11 late in the first quarter before the Marauders scored nine straight points to take a 21-11 into the first quarter break.
McMaster dominated the second quarter, outscoring Nipissing 27-4 to head to the halftime intermission up 48-15.
The Lakers had a much better second half, posting 13 points in the third quarter and another 16 in the fourth, for a solid total of 29 in the half, however, McMaster matched their output and extended their lead each quarter.
After three, the Marauders led 76-28 and cruised to the 91-44 win.
Alexe Galipeau-Wilson led the Lakers with a double-double, 14 points and 12 rebounds,
