It wasn't the way the Nipissing Lakers women's basketball wanted to end the first semester, but they did finish the 2018 portion of the season with a split.
Coming off their first victory of the season, the Lakers faced a very tough and skilled Lancers team.
While it wasn't a great start, the Lakers found themselves down just five points after the first quarter and were hanging in there.
The difference in the game came in the second quarter, where Windsor outscored Nipissing 20-9.
That big second pushed the Lakers deficit to 36-20 at the half, but they were still in striking distance and looked to make a comeback in the second half.
A tight third quarter had Nipissing once again stay close, but it wasn't enough to cut into their deficit.
Windsor extended their lead by a single point heading into the final frame.
The Lakers failed to tighten the game in the last 10 minutes, as Windsor tacked on 15 points and picked up the 63-39 victory over Nipissing.
Jamie Soffer led the Lakers attack with 10 points and
Angeline Campbell had 8 in the loss.
Nipissing is back on the court in January to resume the regular season.
