In one of the more exciting games of the season, the Nipissing Lakers women's basketball team collected their second win of the season.
The Lakers erased deficits after each quarter and posted a huge third quarter to come away with a 65-61 victory over the York Lions.
In a fast-paced, exciting and well-played game, the Lakers trailed by six, 18-12, after the first quarter.
The opening 10 minutes set the tone for the game, as the entire 40 minutes was up-tempo quick at both ends of the court.
The Lions actually extended their lead at halftime, outscoring the Lakers 17-12 in the second period, moving ahead 35-24 at the break.
Despite a solid first half, the Lakers came out flying in the third and turned the game around.
Nipissing put up 23 points coming out of the half and cut into their deficit, trailing by just two after 30 minutes thanks to their offensive outburst.
In the fourth, Nipissing completed the comeback by putting up 18 more points and overtaking the Lions, holding on in the end for the win.
After moving ahead of York, Nipissing clamped down and secured the four point win to pick up their second triumph of the season.
The Lakers remain on homecourt to face the Queens Gaels Saturday night at 6pm.
