It was a long way to go for a victory, but the Nipissing Lakers women's volleyball team will take it.
The Lakers snapped out of a slump thanks to a straight sets sweep of the Lakehead Thunderwolves Sunday afternoon in Thunder Bay.
Nipissing had three players hit double digits in points on their way to victory and moved into fourth place, the final playoff spot, thanks to the win.
Nipissing claimed wins of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-20 to earn the victory.
Cassie Dobson led the way with 11.5 points,
Olivia Robinson had 11,
Erika Lapierre had 10.5 and
Annabelle Harvey added 8.5 in the victory.
The Lakers will now look to get on a roll as they host a pair of matches this weekend.
Nipissing welcomes McMaster to town Saturday afternoon and Brock for a Sunday afternoon matchup.
