The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team couldn't have scripted the start of their season any better.
The Lakers hit the road to begin the 2019-20 OUA season and came away with two 4-1 wins over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, getting off to the start they were looking for.
On Friday,Â
Devyn Mayea,
Brett Jeffries,
Deverick Ottereyes and Luca Brown scored, while
Brent Moran finished with 36 saves in the win.
Erik Campbell added two assists as well.
In the second game of the weekend on Saturday, the Lakers made it two wins in a row, as they once again defeated the Ridgebacks 4-1.
Brent Moran was outstanding, making 45 saves, while
Jacob Collins scored his first two OUA goals and Gale Lubwele and
Matt Paul also tallied for Nipissing.
Ben Garagan finished with two assists in the contest and three for the weekend.
The Lakers return home next weekend for their first two home games of the season, hosting the RMC Paladins Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm at Memorial Gardens
