The road wasn't a pleasant place to be for the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team this past weekend.
The Lakers dropped a pair of games this past weekend, losing 5-2 to the RMC Paladins Friday night in Kingston and 5-1 to the Ottawa Gee Gees Saturday in Ottawa.
In the first game of the weekend, the Lakers held a 1-0 and 2-1 lead, but four straight RMC goals sunk Nipissing.
Kyle Lewis opened up the scoring in the first period and
Nic Vlahos put the Lakers up 2-1 after 20 minutes, but the Paladins stormed back with two goals in the second and two in the third to claim the victory.
Drake Lindsay picked up the lone assist on the Vlahos goal.
Talor Joseph made 36 saves in the loss, while Nipissing fired 51 shots on goal through 60 minutes.
Against Ottawa, the Lakers trailed 1-0 after the first period and were down 5-0 until late in the second period.
Jacob Hickey found the back of the net in the last second of the middle frame to get Nipissing on the board.
Deverick Ottereyes picked up the assist the team's goal.
Joseph made 14 saves through 40 minutes, while
Francis Asselin closed out the game making four saves on five shots in the third.
Nipissing is back in action Wednesday when they host the Laurentian at 7pm.
They're also at home this weekend when they host Carleton Friday night and Ottawa Saturday.
Both games are 7:30pm starts and all the action will take place at Memorial Gardens.
