The matchup between the Nipissing Lakers women's volleyball team and the Lakehead Thunderwolves couldn't have been much closer.
The Lakers and T'Wolves went the distance, with Lakehead pulling out a 16-14 win in the fifth set to take the match 3-2.
Nipissing led the match 2-0 after a 25-23 win and a 25-20 early in the match.
Lakehead came back to win 25-22 and 25-23 to even things up.
In the fifth and final set, the Lakers came up just short, losing in a heart-breaking fashion.
Averi Bodnar had a huge match, posting 16 kills and 19.5 points,
Shayla Kessler had 14 kills and 16 points, Shannon Lebruex added 10 kills and
Megan Winter chipped in with nine kills as well.
Up next, the Lakers remain on the road, heading to Windsor and Western for a pair of games this weekend.
