The Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team found themselves back in the win column thanks to a very strong effort Saturday afternoon.
All the scoring was done in the second half, with
Jack Collins leading the way for the Lakers as they picked up a 3-1 victory over the Trent Excalibur.
The win ends the Lakers small winless skid.
Owen O'Leary got things going early in the second half, scoring just three minutes after the break.
He took a skilled pass from Collins to tap the ball into an empty-net.
Within the next 10 minutes, Collins would take over to put the game away for Nipissing.
He found the back of the net twice, both times sprinting on to the ball and making no mistake.
By the 58-minute mark, the Lakers led 3-0 and were well on their way to their second win of the season.
Trent would score late, cutting into Nipissing's lead, but the Lakers would hold on for the victory and full three points.
The Lakers are now 2-3-1 after their latest win.
Nipissing's next action comes next weekend on the road in Kingston, as they face RMC and Queens
