The Nipissing Lakers women's basketball team earned a weekend split and, in the process, got back in the win column on the road.
The Lakers dropped Friday night's contest to the McMaster Marauders by a final of 75-64 before bouncing back and defeating the York Lions 67-57 Saturday in Toronto.
In the first game,
Dominique Bouchard led the Lakers with 20 points, while
Katelyn DeCook had 13 in the contest, but it wasn't enough, as they fell short.
Saturday, the team responded in a big way.
Nicole Budd had 15 points to lead the way,
Taryn Gauthier had 14,
Sophie Milner had a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds and
Katelyn DeCook added 13 points in the Lakers win.
The Lakers hit the road again next weekend, heading south to face Windsor and Western.
