The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team had been heating up as they closed in on the end of the first semester.
Winners of three in a row, the Lakers headed to Montreal to face the Concordia Stingers in their final game of 2024.
Facing the number two team in the country, the Lakers fell 5-0 to the Stingers, closing out the first half.
After a scoreless first, the Stingers scored all five goals in the middle frame to take control and grab the win.
Nipissing is back in action on Jan. 10 and 11 as they host the Queen's Gaels and Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
Both games are at Memorial Gardens.
