The Nipissing Lakers women's soccer team was looking for a big bounce back after a tough loss Friday night.
And they got just that Sunday to close out their weekend, as they hosted the RMC Paladins.
The Lakers scored early and often, on their way to a 6-0 victory on senior student-athlete day.
Veteran striker
Cassidy Brooks wasted no time getting on the board, scoring just over a minute into the game, putting the Lakers up 1-0.
Annika Nolte doubled the Nipissing lead, making it 2-0 just over 17 minutes into the contest.
Emily Tierney added a third goal 24-minutes into the game, putting the Lakers in firm control of the contest before the half-hour mark.
The offence continued to pour it on as
Jessica Emmerton found the back of the net, extending the lead to 4-0 with a goal at the 33-minute mark.
In the second half, despite chances, the Lakers continued to hold on to their four goal lead and added to it late on the contest.
Hannah Neville made it 5-0 before
Alicia McMurren capped off the scoring, scoring the team's sixth goal just before the final whistle.
Madison Heeley and
Hayden Hanley combined for the clean sheet to give Nipissing their seventh win of the season.
The Lakers finish off the regular season on the road, taking on the Queen's Gaels next weekend in Kingston.
After that, they battle Toronto and TMU on Thanksgiving weekend.
