Box Score

North Bay, ON – The Nipissing Lakers Women's Volleyball team displayed a strong effort in a five-set loss against the Toronto Metropolian University Bold Friday night at RJS Athletic Centre.

The Lakers started strong, taking the first set 25-15 in decisive fashion. TMU fought back and took the second and third sets, 25-17 and 25-20, respectively.

Nipissing refused to back down and fought hard to win the fourth set 25-20, forcing a first-to-15 fifth and final set.

The Lakers lead 7-4 in the fifth before TMU rallied to erase the deficit. Nipissing battled hard to get the score to 13-13; however, TMU took the final two points to narrowly close a 3-2 win.

Lakers Outside Hitter Oceane Raymond-Leduc recorded 28 kills in the contest, while Cassie Robinson and Maya Macmillan each recorded 6 for the Lakers.

Albeit a loss, this season's opening match was impressive and showed how the Lakers can fight their way back into a game.

The Lakers are back in action Saturday, November 1st at 2PM against the TMU Bold.
