North Bay, ON – Nipissing Men's Hockey picked up a huge 6-2 win over the McGill Redbirds at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens.

The first period saw Nipissing open the scoring at 3:23, courtesy of Chad Denault's 4th  of the season. Kyle Foreman added his 1st of the season at 9:14. The Lakers took a 3-0 lead 30 seconds later as Reilly Mayne buried his 2nd tally of the year. A strong start for the Lakers. Nipissing managed 18 shots in the opening frame to McGill's 11.

McGill got on the board early in the second period at 2:57 to cut Nipissing's lead to two goals. However, the Lakers would restore a 3-goal lead less than a minute later as Ken Belanger scored his fourth of the year. Nipissing would have 1 power play chance at 10:54 in the frame, which was unsuccessful. McGill pressed Nipissing in the period, outshooting the Lakers 17-9.  However, Lakers goaltender Zach Roy was fantastic and shut down the Redbirds' attack.

The third period saw David De Jesus score for Nipissing under a minute into the third, his 1st of the season. McGill's Alexandre Blanchard would score his second of the season at 11:50, again cutting the Lakers lead to 3. The Lakers would press again, this time continuing the momentum of a power play at 12:43 and convert their 6th goal of the night at 15:49. Jeremy Duhamel scored his 2nd of the season to put the score at 6-2, which is where this game would end.

The Lakers and Redbirds tied in shots, each having 29. Lakers goalie Zach Roy stopped 27/29 shots in the win.

The Lakers move to 7-5-0 with the win. Men's Hockey is back in action Sunday, November 16th, on the road in Ottawa for a matchup with the Carleton Ravens.
