Ottawa, ON – The Nipissing Lakers Men's Basketball had a tough weekend in Ottawa losing two road games.
Friday, October 31, the Lakers came up short against the Carleton Ravens, losing 77-57. Lakers forward Metaja Vukic had 15 points, Ryan Heim dropped 11, and Jeziyah Excell-Johnson added 10 in the loss. Ryan Heim and Chris-Evrard Malonga each snagged 5 rebounds for Nipissing.
Then, on Saturday, November 1, the Lakers fell to the Ottawa GeeGees 106-63. Chris-Evrard Malonga lead the Lakers with 14 points, followed by Alex Blackmore, who had 11. On the defensive side of the ball, Malonga had 3 blocks for the Lakers. Jean Rene Brutus Escalona had 2 steals.
Nipissing continues a stretch of road games this coming weekend. Friday, November 7 the Lakers will take on the Warriors in Waterloo at 7pm. Then, Saturday, November 8, Nipissing will battle the Wilfried Laurier Golden Hawks at 8pm. Catch both games live on OUA.tv.
