Ottawa, ON – Nipissing Lakers Women's Basketball fell in both games this past weekend, losing to the Carleton Ravens and uOttawa GeeGees.
On Friday, October 31, the Lakers lost to Carleton 78-59. Nipissing forward Avery Miller scored 19 points in the contest, including shooting 5/8 from the 3-point line. Sophie Milner contributed 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals for the Lakers. Dominique Bouchard, Taryn Gauthier and Avery Miller each had 3 steals in the game. Miller, Milner, and Nicole Budd each snagged 6 rebounds in the loss.
Then, Saturday, November 1, the Lakers fell short 83-59 to the uOttawa GeeGees. Dominique Bouchard led the charge for the Lakers, scoring 14 points on 4/6 3PT shooting. Nicole Budd had 10 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds in the contest. Defensively, Nipissing totaled 10 steals, including Avery Miller (3), Ella Bannister (3), Avery Walker (2), Sophie Milner (1), and Sydney Lake (1). Taryn Gauthier snagged 7 rebounds for the Lakers.
Nipissing will continue on the road this coming weekend with two matchups in Waterloo, Ontario. Friday, November 7, the Lakers will face the Waterloo Warriors at 6pm. Saturday, November 8, Nipissing will take on the Wilfried Laurier Golden Hawks, also at 6pm.
