The Nipissing Lakers women's hockey team didn't enjoy their weekend in Toronto.

The Lakers dropped a pair of games – only their second and third regulation losses of the season – to the Toronto Varsity Blues and TMU Bold.

Friday, the Lakers fell 6-2 to the Varsity Blues and then came up short, losing 4-1 to the Bold.

To begin the weekend, down 4-0, the Lakers found the back of the net as Jill Hennessy continued her strong play with another goal.

Maggie McKee would also score for the Lakers in a losing cause.

In the second game, Hennessy scored again for the Lakers in the contest, while Nipissing heavily outshot the Bold, but allowed four straight goals in the loss.

Nipissing is back in action next weekend when they head to Waterloo to battle the Warriors and Laurier Golden Hawks.
