The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team is looking to finish the season on a high note with four games left on the schedule.
They begin the final stretch with two home games against the Windsor Lancers, kicking off Friday night.
A big middle frame propelled the Lakers to a gutsy 2-1 win over the visiting Lancers to begin their final weekend at home.
The Lancers opened the scoring with the lone goal in the first and led 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.
In the middle frame, the Lakers potted a pair to jump ahead.
Charlie Johnson tied the game and
Noah Vom Scheidt buried what turned out to be the game-winner late in the frame.
After two fasted-paced periods, the Lakers held a 2-1 lead.
The third was back and forth with both teams generating chances, but nothing came offensively for either team.
Zach Roy was strong in the Lakers net, making 35 saves, while Nipissing had 26 shots of their own.
The Lakers and Lancers are back on the ice Saturday afternoon as Nipissing wraps up the home portion of their season.
Puck drop is set for 4pm at Memorial Gardens.
