The Nipissing Lakers Nordic ski team is excited and proud to announce the addition of their latest recruit, talented skier Charlotte Ailey.
Ailey is the sister of current Lakers student-athlete,
Brooke Ailey.
The Lakers started working with Charlotte at last summer's volume training camp and the coaches were impressed by her practice-positive attitude, solid technical basis and fitness.
The Nipissing Nordic team has good relations with the coaching staff at Charlotte's home club, Lappe Nordic in Thunder Bay and appreciate that skiers arriving from that program know how to ski well and how to work hard.

Ailey: "I first met the Nipissing ski team when OUAs were held in my hometown and I was immediately struck by their incredible team dynamic and morale. Then, after attending the September training camp and getting to know the athletes better, I realized this was where I truly belong. At Nationals, I felt so welcomed, like I was already part of the team. I'm beyond excited to train with and race for a group that will push me to reach my full potential. I can't wait to represent the Lakers at OUAs and be part of such a competitive and supportive team."
Koivukoski: "It was inspiring to see Charlotte's development as a ski racer this year, building towards her performances at Canadian National Ski Championships, including racing up an age category with a standout result in the 20k classic race. This demonstrates a good endurance base for a young skier. She knows that her training is working and we look forward to her contributions to our team's performance and culture."
