The Nipissing Lakers Nordic skiing team is excited and proud to announce the addition of their latest recruit, Ewan Pengra.

Originally from Parry Sound, ON, Pengra already has an impressive resume and has found success at every level.

He'll arrive at Nipissing after capping off his high school racing with a bronze individual podium finish at last season's OFSAA Championships and leading his Parry Sound High School Senior Male team to a silver place finish in the team relay.

Expectations: "I was drawn to the Nipissing Nordic team because I believe that the coaching staff are very experienced and can help me greatly on my quest for development and success. I also enjoy the team dynamics at Nipissing Nordic."
Why Nipissing: "I chose Nipissing University because I found it to have great sport and education opportunities while still being close to home and the outdoors."
Koivukoski: "Having worked with Ewan through the new provincial standardized dryland tests recently, the young skier demonstrated leg speed and a good cardiovascular engine in our 2.6km uphill run. This shows that he's strong in the upper body, has well-developed heart, lungs and blood, and has the legs to carry him. We look forward to seeing what this fit, keen young student-athlete can do as we train towards the ski race season.
His ability to contribute to the team bodes well for his time with Nipissing Lakers Nordic, where these kinds of collective efforts have been core to the team culture."
