MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Lakers alum Young named to National Team for Volleyball Nations League

North Bay, Ontario – Lakers Men's Volleyball alumni Jackson Young has been named to the 2026 Team Canada roster for the 2026 Volleyball National League (VNL).

Young, an outside hitter from Etobicoke, Ontario, played three seasons with the Lakers from 2019-2023.

In 2022-23, Young scored a career high 309 kills in 72 sets played. Jackson also served 38 aces, recorded 96 digs, and had a total of 379 points scored, good for a 5.26 points per set rate.

"We're excited to watch Jackson excel with Team Canada" Lakers Men's Volleyball Head Coach Eric Yung said. "Young was a key piece of our program during his tenure at Nipissing, and it has been great to watch him continue to work hard and advance professionally and now with the National team."

Young was named a member of the OUA's First All-Star team in his final season with the Lakers. He finished 22-23 with nine straight matches with a double-digit number of kills.

Young has played overseas professionally since 2024, and spent the 2025-26 season with Bogdanka Luk, a Polish club.

Congratulations, Jackson!
