Jack and Mary Ann Jones Female Athlete of the Year – Maria Dominico

Once again, the speedy, skilled forward set the pace offensively for the Lakers this season.

She led the team and OUA in points with 18, led the team in goals with 10 and added two game-winning goals in the process.

She was an OUA First Team All-Star and OUA East Division Forward of the Year, as well as a USports First Team All-Canadian.

Dominico was among the USports leaders as well, sitting 17th in points, tied-eighth in goals and tied-second in hat-tricks.

The North Bay, ON native had multi-point effort in half of her games played this season, including a hat trick against York on Nov. 12.

On top of leading the league in points, she ranked, second in goals scored and sixth in assists.

She was also named to the USports National Championship Tournament All-Star team, earning a silver medal, to go with her OUA silver medal.

Dominico was also on the FISU Team Canada roster, although the event was cancelled.

She continues to add to her impressive resume with more hardware.

Al Carfagnini Male Athlete of the Year – Jackson Young

The team's top scorer, Young had an unreal season, leading the Lakers – and the OUA in a number of categories, cementing himself as one of the top players in the country.

Young hit double digits in kills in six of his eight matches and double digits in points in seven of eight.

He capped off the regular season with 22 kills and 30 points.

The Etobicoke, ON native ranked third in the OUA and 10th in the country in kills per set and was first in aces per set.

He totalled 104 kills, 142.5 points and tacked on 25 service aces in eight matches and 26 sets.

Young led both the OUA and USports in points (5.5) and Aces (.96) per set. He was fourth in OUA with hitting percentage. Young was a member of the Canada's Junior National Team this past summer and is a 2028 Los Angeles candidate for the senior team.

He was named an OUA First team all start and USports Second team All-Canadian.

By far, one of the best individual seasons from our program being able to lead the nation in two categories. Without a doubt, one of the best players in Canada.
