MEN'S SOCCER: RAMS BLANK LAKERS

Brian Doherty Photo
It wasn't the start of the season the Nipissing Lakers were hoping for, but with a handful of injuries to deal with, they know things will only get better.

Wrapping up the first weekend of the season, the Lakers fall by a final of 4-0 to the Ryerson Rams today on the road.

Ryerson scored three times in the first half to take control of the game and cruised to the victory.

After a tough loss Friday, Nipissing is now 0-2-0 and will look to get into the win column next weekend.

Nicholas Cirullo was in net for Nipissing and turned in an admirable effort, making three saves, against a tough Rams team who performed well in their home opener.

The Lakers back in action Sept. 3 and 4 when they play at Queens and at RMC, looking for their first win of the season.
