MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: LAKERS DROP DECISION TO WARRIORS

In an entertaining and competitive match, the Nipissing Lakers men's volleyball team came out on the wrong end of a four set decision. 

Waterloo outlast Nipissing, claiming the win and getting the better of the Lakers Friday night at the RJS Athletic Centre.

The first set started out point for point before the Warriors began taking a small lead.

This continued all the way until the score tied up 22-22 and went point for point from there.

Unfortunately, the Warriors took the first set 28-26.

Going into the second set, the score tied itself up again this time at 8-8.

From here the Lakers took off. The fans pumped up the players as they brought the second set to an end with an amazing score of 25-20, evening up the match.

The fight continued into the third set as the men continued play all over the court.

Waterloo pulled slightly ahead and this time Nipissing just couldn't catch up as the set came to an end 25-22 for the Warriors.

Of course, energy was equal across the court yet again entering the fourth set. The intense rallies continued, but in the end, Nipissing just couldn't overcome the Warriors.

In the end, the Warriors escaped with the win in their third set 25-21.

Cam Branch led the Lakers attack with 19 kills and 25 points, Steve Wood had 14 kills and 16 points, while Warren Taylor chipped in with 7 kills and 10.5 points.

The Lakers host Guelph Saturday night at 6pm at the RJS Athletic Centre.
