The Nipissing Lakers are proud to announce that Tony D'Agostino is the new head coach of the men's soccer program.
D'Agostino takes over and begins his second stint as head coach of the Lakers and is looking forward to beginning his role.
"I am extremely excited and honoured to be returning to the program, playing in the best conference in the country in the OUA, and working with a group of players that are hungry for success both in the classroom and on the field," he said.
After a solid tenure which ended six years ago, D'Agostino wants nothing more than to make a positive impact this time around.
"There is much work to be done, but I am confident that with all of us working together we can bring this program into prominence and build a program of excellence," D'Agostino explained.
Lakers athletic director Vito Castiglione is excited about D'Agostino re-joining the department and program and is excited for the future.
"We are looking forward to having Tony lead the men's soccer program," he said. "Tony has a strong background, an impressive resume and we share his vision for the program moving ahead. We're excited for the future.
The North Bay, ON native knows challenges of the OUA and running a program, but welcomes the opportunity and is on board with the direction of the department.
"I believe in what Lakers PRIDE stands for, the vision and excitement that surrounds Lakers Athletics and I look forward to being a part of that vision," he stated.
D'Agostino begins his duties as head coach immediately and will begin preparing for the 2018 season.
