It wasn't the result they wanted, but the Nipissing Lakers men's volleyball team is now focused on their next task.
The Lakers came up short in their season finale, losing 3-1 to the Windsor Lancers, but with the playoffs ahead, Nipissing was able to use their depth and get playing time for everybody this weekend.
The Lakers opened up the match with a 25-18 victory.
It was a solid start, but the Lancers were able to bounce back in a big way and claim the next three sets and the match.
In the second, it was a 25-20 victory for Windsor, 25-16 in the third and the Lancers closed things out in the fourth, winning 25-19.
Curtis MacPherson had a big match, posting 16 kills and Andy McWiggan had seven in tonight's match.
Cameron Branch added six and
Jack Peckham had five in the four-setter.
Nipissing will now turn their attention to the OUA Playoffs, where they will hit the road and take on the Guelph Gryphons in the quarter-final crossover match next Saturday.
The Lakers dropped their lone match with Guelph this year.
This is Nipissing's first trip to the post-season, where they look to make some noise and go on a run.
The schedule for the playoffs will be finalized in the coming days.
