It was the perfect way to close out the home portion of the regular season and honour 10 veteran players.
The Nipissing Lakers lacrosse team picked up a huge 23-6 win over the Carleton Ravens Saturday afternoon in their final home game of the season, before they wrap up the schedule on the road this weekend.
Nipissing led 4-1 after one, 10-3 at half and cruised to their fourth win of the season.
They blew the game wide open – if it wasn't already – in the third quarter when they extended their lead to 16-4.
In the fourth, they poured it on, adding seven more goals to secure the win and two points.
Scott Dominey continued his impressive season with eight goals and four assists,
Tanner Poole had four goals and three assists,
Will Craig had a hat-tricks,
Ryley Ruff added a pair of goals and
Jack Drinkwalter,
Quinn Harding,
Patrick Fitzgerald,
Mark Smydo,
Tyler Loney and
Tyler Goodchild all added singles in the win.
In total, eight Lakers had multi-point games in the victory.
The game was never in doubt and thanks to the big win, the Lakers have moved into fourth place in the East Division.
They are two points behind Queens and two points up on Bishops heading into the final weekend of play, where they will face Ottawa (2-7) and Queens (5-3).
Both games are on the road and will determine the CUFLA post-season picture.
