Box Score 2 There were good signs throughout the weekend, but unfortunately the Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team dropped a pair of games on the road this weekend.
Nipissing lost 3-1 to the Laurier Golden Hawks Friday night and 5-3 to the Waterloo Warriors Saturday night.
Friday,
Dan Desrochers scored the lone Nipissing goal as the Lakers trailed 2-0 midway through the first before Desrcohers found the back of the net.
Deverick Ottereyes and
Dylan Staples picked up helpers on the goal.
Laurier would seal the win with a goal in the second, making it 3-1.
Domenic Graham finished the game with 44 saves as the Lakers were outshot 47-28.
Saturday, Nipissing faired a bit better, as they kept pace with the high-scoring Warriors.
After trailing 1-0 after one and 2-0 early in the second, Nipissing scored three straight goals to take the lead into the second intermission.

Lucas Brown and Desrochers all tallied to give the Lakers a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.
Erik Robichaud,
Erik Campbell,
Tyler Brown and
Brett Jeffries earned assists on the three Nipissing goals.
Unfortunately, Waterloo would storm back in the third period, scoring three straight of their own to pick up the victory.
Talor Joseph finished with 10 saves in the loss.
The Lakers are back in action this week when they travel to Sudbury to face Laurentian Wednesday night and then make their way to Oshawa to face UOIT Friday.
