Box Score Depth scoring has been a key all season for the Nipissing Lakers women's hockey and it showed Saturday afternoon.
Jetta Derenoski scored twice and added an assist, while
Kaley Tienhaara had a goal and two assists to lead the Lakers to a 4-1 victory over the Windsor Lancers.
Windsor opened up the scoring with the lone goal of the first period and took a 1-0 lead to the intermission.
From there, it was all Derenoski, Tienhaara and the Lakers.
Derenoski tied the game early in the second period, set up by
Katelyn Heppner and Tienhaara.
Heppner finished with a pair of points as well.
With the scored tied 1-1 after 40 minutes, the Lakers scored three times in the third to come away with the win.
Tienhaara scored just over a minute in, set up by Heppner and Derenoski.
Then Derenoski potted her second of the night, setup by none other than Tienhaara, as the two finished with three points each.
Marilyn Fortin sealed the win with an empty-netter, assisted by
Zosia Davis
In net,
Mercedes Chircop made 21 saves for the win as she continues her solid season.
Nipissing faces Western in London Sunday at 2:30pm to wrap up the first road trip of 2019.
