MEN'S SOCCER: LAKERS FIND A WAY TO EARN A SPLIT ON THE ROAD

Box Score 1 It was a tough start, but a positive end to this past weekend's road trip for the Nipissing Lakers men's soccer team.

After a tough loss to Ontario Tech Saturday, the Lakers rebounded and came away with a key win on Sunday over Trent.

Things got off to a great start in the weekend's first game as Ryan Roy scored less than 15 minutes into the game.

Jack Collins grabbed the assist on the first goal of the game.

Unfortunately, Ontario Tech scored five straight goals to pick up the win.

The Ridgebacks tied the game just three minutes later and tacked on four goals in the final 12 minutes of the game, including three in two minutes.

That outburst gave the Ridgebacks the victory and forced the Lakers to regroup.

On Sunday, the game was much different and for the Lakers, ended in a positive result thanks to a Collins goal, as he finished the weekend with a pair of points.

The game-winner came late in the game, at the 74-minute mark, to give Nipissing the victory and keep them in the playoff picture.

The Lakers will wrap up their regular season with a pair of games this weekend – Saturday at home against RMC and Sunday on the road at Ryerson.
