With a number of new faces, but also key returners, the Nipissing Lakers are poised to get back to the post-season.
Their strength should be on the blueline, with five players back, but also a strong group of newcomers.
Up front, they did lose some offence from graduating players – two of their top three scorers – however, they have replaced them with skilled forwards from the Junior A ranks and have their top three rookie scorers – Kylow Wall,
Colby Tower and Gale Lubwele – back in the mix.
When it comes to goaltending, the Lakers should be set and will rely on their third year netminder,
Brent Moran, to make an impact and win some games for the team.
Overall, the team is well-suited for the grind of the OUA season and they're poised to find their way back into the post-season.
The Lakers begin the year on the road with a pair of games against Ontario Tech, Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 3:30pm in Oshawa.
The team's home opener is next week, Oct. 11 and 12 versus RMC at Memorial Gardens - both game times re 7:30pm.
