Box Score 2 After a weekend split on the road, the Nipissing Lakers women's hockey returns home for four straight contests at Memorial Gardens.
The Lakers doubled up the Brock Badgers 4-2 Saturday night, but were shutout 3-0 Sunday afternoon by the Guelph Gryphons, as the Lakers suffered their first loss of the season in the process.
In Saturday's victory,
Brianna Gaffney,
Maggie McKee,
Marilyn Fortin and
Malory Dominico all scored, while
Danika Ranger finished with 28 saves in the victory.
Nipissing outshot Brock 38-30.
On Sunday, the Gryphons managed to find the back of the net three times – one in each period – as the Lakers were unable to generate much in the way offence despite firing 28 shots on goal.
Ranger finished with 18 saves.
Nipissing is now 6-1-0 on the season and returns home for their next four games, which begins with a matchup with Toronto Friday and Ryerson Saturday.
Both games are set for 7:30pm at Memorial Gardens.
