Box Score 1 The Nipissing Lakers men's volleyball team settled for a split on the road this weekend, but earned it thanks to a strong effort Saturday.
After falling short Friday night, losing 3-0 to the Windsor Lancers, the Lakers rebounded to top the Western Mustangs 3-1 Saturday.
Nipissing dropped the decision Friday in three straight, losing 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21.
Jackson Young had 10 kills, while
Jeremie Murray had 8 for Nipissing in the contest.
On the second day, the Lakers bounced back in a big way.
A slow start – dropping the opening set – 25-15, put Nipissing behind, but they won three straight to pick up the victory.
Nipissing picked up a 25-19 win to even the match and dominated the rest of the way.
They won the third set 25-13 and finished things off with a 25-20 win in the fourth and final game.
Young had another monster match with 20 kills and
Curtis MacPherson added 11 in tonight's win.
Nipissing is finished for the semester and will be back in action in January.
