MEN'S BASKETBALL: LAKERS FALL TWICE IN THE NATION'S CAPITAL

It was a tough end to a tough season for the Nipissing Lakers men's basketball team, as they dropped a pair of games to the top-ranked Carleton Ravens and Ottawa Gee Gees.

In the first game of the weekend, the Lakers lost to the Ravens by a final of 92-49 Friday night on the road.

After the Ravens built up a lead, Nipissing pushed back in the second half which included a very strong fourth quarter, but the comeback bid wasn't enough.

Leading the way for Nipissing was Marcus Lewis and Quintin Ashitei who both had 18 points.

On Saturday night, the Lakers lost 78-56 to Ottawa.

Nipissing got off to a very strong start, leading the Gee Gees 24-17 after one, but the advantage didn't last.

Ottawa stormed back to take the lead at half and cruise the victory.

Marcus Lewis led the Lakers offence with 20 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

That Lakers' final record stands at to 3-20 on the season.
